Twenty years after Nintendo`s biggest franchise was born, the Mario Bros. return in a dazzling, all-new platformer sure to set players` fingers twitching. Fans from Mario`s classic days will see their dreams answered in this return to the Mushroom Kingdom, while a new generation of Mario" players will learn what true platforming greatness means.

Game Storyline: Bowser and Bowser Jr. have kidnapped Princess Peach again, and only Mario can save her.

Characters: Mario, Luigi, a ton of Mushroom Kingdom enemies, both new and old, Peach, Bowser and Bowser Jr.

How to progress through the game: Run, jump and battle enemies through multiple levels in each world. Every time players finish one world, they can move onto the next, but each level features impediments in the forms of fortresses, Hammer Bros. and bosses. After defeating the boss of each world, players can move on to the next, culminating in the final fight in the last world.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Mario and Luigi can do all kinds of jump maneuvers: increasingly high triple jumps, wall jumps and high bounces off enemies. Mario also can use power-ups like Mushrooms (grow big), Fire Flowers (throw fireballs), Starmen (become invincible), Blue Shells (turn into a speedy, blue Koopa shell) and other mushrooms that make him tiny or huge.

as an oldie I thought this would be too simple, but it's great fun and a change from Professor Layton. Only thing I'd change is the ability to save more often

What a great, retro way to start off your DS collection. The game itself is a great time-waster, the storyline being almost non-existent and all the gameplay being what you would full well expect, this game lives up to that! But, surprisingly, I could not care less! The graphics are surprisingly good for a 2006 DS game, and it still lives up to expectations 4 years on! The corny music is perfect and the characters and monsters are classic reminders of days spent on my old Gameboy colour yonks ago! What really made it great value for money though, was the 20+ mini-games! Me and my sister love these, and now she oh-so wishes her old DS didn't break on her a few months back! What I think in a nutshell: £20?! Bargain! Get this game! Although, try to buy it from the Amazon direct dealer and not one of the cheaper suppliers like I did. Either he sold me a damaged item, or the Royal Mail screwed up badly on delivery, tearing case and cover terribly. Not to fret though! I was sent a new case for my troubles with a photo-copied gameguide and cover! ;P Besides from that hiccup! 20+ Mini-games, a non-existent story line and superb, childish, comic gameplay for hours and hours of fun!

This is THE best DS game ever - in fact, as it is everyones favourite I had to buy another DS and another Super Mario game so 2 of us could play at the same time. Every single penny spent on this is money very well spent. Pure genuis.

I bought this for my son. However, my son who is six years old found it very easy and didn't find it challenging in the slightest. Good game, great graphics, all round excellence.
