Compared to the old ds this is amazing. Initially I thought it would not be that different and that nintendo is just trying to make money, but the camera feature is brilliant!

Can't believe the people that created the Wii came up with this over-priced, under performing piece of junk. Buy an Ipod touch for less and get much, much more.

Bigger and better than DS Lite, great fun for kids who love using the camera.

I bought Nintendo DSI for my daughter who is 7 years old. She loves it. It is very good to keep the children busy. The only down side is that there is no game built in. There should be one or two games built in so that child can use the console right away.

I noticed that this console is getting a lot of good reviews, and it is fun, but it has a number of downsides and problems that really need to be addressed:
> The battery lasts about six hours, if that, which is pretty pathetic in a console that has to be recharged. Don't expect it to still be going at the end of a long flight.
> There is a micro card slot, but the Gameboy advance slot has been removed, meaning you can't use your cartridges without bringing an advance as well.
> Native resolution has not been increased, this means everything is blocky.
> No noticeable performance boost, even games that have been out for quite a while run very choppy.
> Clearly aimed at people with bad eyesight, which is good for them, but not so much if you want fineness of detail.
> Quality has clearly been sacrificed.
