after a long time a good super hero game is out! has sooo many villains, and the extra bonus stages will keep u playing for hours after the main storyline.

All that can be said is that I agree with the reviews made of this game... both from people like IGN and also Zeropunctuation. Having to make batman run to avoid a tin can walk is the only let down.

Batman Arkham Asylum is the best Super Hero game that has been made so far Fact! Is Batman Arkham Asylum worth getting? Yes And No. I am a massive fan of Batman and since Batman Begins and the Dark Knight both brought justice to a super hero who had had some horrible films made about him, I was glad to see Batman was coming back to us the way he should be. And I was glad that both Eidos and Rocksteady have provided a game that will keep you enthralled with Batman forever. Having just completed Batman Arkham Asylum all I can say is WOW! The game makes you feel like batman taking down thugs in a very fun adn cool freeflow combat system, and doing inverted takedowns never gets old. The game recieved critical accliam and has won many awards. The Game Of The Year Edition provides everything and the one thing about this that has made the game even better was the 3D. While not the proper 3D seen in such films such as Avatar. This 3D being the green and red glasses all I can say is that Im glad Trioviz 3D was used. It can be turned on and off on the options menu to play in both 3D an 2D. The 3D adds more depth to the game and also makes it look like chracters are cioming out of the screen. I read reviews where they said the 3D takles away tyhe colour from the great graphics of the game while it does a little bit if you change the brightness of the game you cant tell the difference. The 3D is great take my word for it. The game has many flaws though after downloading the Joker maps that I thought I would be able to play I found that you have to unlock them by finding the Riddle tokens that the Riddler has placed through the game. Unfortunatly this is how pretty much all the chracter trophies and challenges are unlocked. so you are bascially spending more time in areas finding the riddle tokens then you want to. While this can be fun it can also feel that the developers dragged the game out because once you have done the story mode thats it. The staory mode took me about 4 days to complete but it pretty short. And even at the end once you see all the in mates returning to the cells they actually dont. You finish the game get you see Poison Ivy returning to her cell as well as other inmates but once you complete the game your back on the island and its empty. Yep plain empty no thugs to fight except for a few inmates who escpaed and they just need one hit to take down. So once you finish the game and you continue story there is nothing to do excpet for try and finsd the riddle trophies to unlock the rest of the challenges. Now you could call me PICKY but I expected that once you finish the game you could continue story and it would take you to the start of the game with everything you unlocked so far at your dispossal. So you would have the the Batclaw the Explosdive Gel everything that you used and unlocked from the start, but No this didnt happen. Dont let this turn you off this game because you would be stupid to miss out on it. It is true it is the best Batman game ever and it makes you feel as Batman but it is not long and once you complete it theres nothing to do excpet for find the Riddle tokens or do the game again from the start without eveything you unlocked and gained when you first did it. Hopefully the sequal Batman Arkham City will provide a longer game where once you finish the game you can do it again as well as fight crime. If you are a fan of Batman and like finding tokens and unlocking tings this is deffintly for you. If you are unsure about getting this game I would wait till Batman Arkham City is released because hopefully it will be a lot better and we will be able to explore Gotham!

  • Rating 5 stars Get the regular edition - but still great game 09/08/2010 Read full review>>
The game is great, i loved it and it is a fantastic game but the game of the year edition sorta sucks.

The 3d is rubbish and theres already loads of challenge maps so an extra 6 or so dont make much of an add on.

The only reason i would get this edition is because of the cover, which is sooooo cool.

but apart from that, theres no point so dont waste your money and go for the regular version.
  • Rating 5 stars A Next Generation Action Game 08/08/2010 Read full review>>
Fantastic, the game-play is amazing, challenging and overall its a rewarding play. You play as Batman trying to take back the Arkham Asylum that has been taken from the Joker and his friends including Ivory, Bane, Scarecrow and The Riddler. The combat system is awesome and always seem to stay fresh when you play it again. Its a long game also which is not what I was expecting, but its challenging and not like other games you seem to want to complete all of it 100%. The 3D isnt as good as you might think, its not like it is in the new movies at the moment but what other games have 3D in a good standard ? After completing this I am so exited for when the next one comes out next year. If you want a action game that is really good and makes you want to grab the controller and play, this is your must buy game.
